Our dedicated Civil Engineering section is fully aware of the needs of Developers and Local Authorities when dealing with infrastructure projects. Not only do we have the engineering and technical expertise to influence and ultimately complete the project, but also our knowledge and experience of the legal requirements enables us to ensure a smooth transition of the project when dealing with the Local and County Authorities and meeting adoption standards.
Some civil engineering projects we have worked on:

| Churchward, Swindon
Melliss have an ongoing commission at the former British Rail Engineering Limited site at Swindon where they have acted for Carillion Properties Limited (formerly Tarmac Properties Ltd.) for the infrastructure works necessary to open up the 142 acre site for subsequent development.

| The infrastructure works included over 1km of new roads and roundabouts with all the associated drainage, alterations to existing adopted roads, junctions and roundabouts. The works also included the construction of a new single span bridge carrying an adopted highway.

Riverside Park, Poyle, Middlesex
Construction of a weir and river bank improvements were necessary to maximise the development potential of the site and to provide flood water control measures. The project also included the design of a 19 metre, single span bridge and five 2 storey concrete framed buildings and associated infrastructure.

| Texaco
Melliss were retained by Texaco Ltd. for a number of service station developments. The works included new and alterations to existing roads and has involved site roads and hard standings.

SUDS Wet Pond, Bracknell, Berkshire
The formation of a large wet pond which covers an area of 2.3 acres serving a catchment area of 90 hectares for a new business park.

| TBS Distribution Centre, Frating Green, Colchester - SUDS Wet Pond
The 30 acre site was developed to provide 24,000 sq. m. (260,000 sq. ft.) of distribution warehouse and 4,000 sq. m. (43,000 sq. ft.) of offices.
Extensive infrastructure included a large wet pond with environmental enhancements.
